from Halloween 2009 Ideas and Costumes!

You do not have to be a good crafter to be able to make many great Halloween crafts that will make your holiday joyful. Halloween suggests pictures of spooky ghosts, black cats, dark witches, and flying bats.

You can recreate some of these images with fun and simple crafts.

The best part about making Halloween crafts is that the whole family can make them and it can give you some time to spend together. Lots of Halloween crafts can be done by almost any age child. For instance, your toddler can help out and learn new skills like cutting, drawing, and coloring.

Of course, you need some crafting supplies from the store. Here is the basic craft equipment needed:

* Several craft paintings: black, white, orange, etc. (pots and spraying cans)
* Gold and silver paint (spraying cans)
* Colored pipe cleaners
* Black, white, silver and gold markers

Obviously, most homes already have basic craft supplies like scissors, tape and glue.

So, let’s begin: it is going to be fun!

Spiders

To make these spiders, you need an egg carton.
Cut all the egg cups.
Paint them black.
Paint their eyes with white or orange paint.
Make four small holes on each side of the spiders.
Insert a black or colored pipe cleaner in each hole and stick or glue them to the spider.
Give the shape you want to the pipe cleaners

Pumpkin boxes

Find as many small pumpkin plastic containers as you want.
Fill them with candies.
Voila! Treats are ready to be given to kids who will ring on your bell on Halloween Eve.

Colored Pumpkins

Here is a very special idea that will allow you to renew your Halloween ornaments while saving a lot of money. You probably already have ceramic pumpkins. Rather buying new Halloween ornaments, paint your old ones according to your needs: gold or silver paint for a luxurious decoration, for example.

You may also want to paint them in black or white. With a black, white, silver or gold marker, draw some shapes on these new pumpkins such as black cat, white witch, black mansion…

Kids love bright colors so you can paint your pumpkins in several different bright colors such as orange, green, blue, red, yellow, etc. Draw Halloween figures on these pumpkins. For teenagers decoration, paint pumpkins with metallic colors, glow-in-the-dark, glitter, and so on.

Pumpkin Jar

If you already have one or more, fill a glass jar with small plastic or ceramic pumpkins; alternate pumpkins with maple berries and leaves.

Do-it-yourself Halloween Lights

Here is an almost free Halloween craft! Paint small jars in black, white and orange. Draw some Halloween shapes on them and insert a tea light candle in each jar. For instance, paint a white jar, draw Scream murderer’s eyes and mouth and voila, you have an original ghost light. Place the Halloween candles on a black tray, insert mini pumpkins, maple berries and leaves, etc.

If you have larger jars, you may paint them as well and pour in Christmas lights.

Halloween Candelabra

Paint candelabra with black paint.
Add orange candles.
Hang cobwebs on the candelabra for a spooky Halloween effect!

Halloween Centrepiece

You will need to use a bread basket in order to make this item.
Fill it with some maple leaves.
Add cobweb, mini pumpkins, spiders…
You may keep the basket for Thanksgiving: you will only have to replace cobweb and spiders by grapes and pine cones.

Halloween Tree

Put bare branches in a vase.
Paint small Christmas tree balls black, white, and orange.
Draw Halloween shapes on them.
Hang the balls on the branches.
You may also make your own Halloween tree ornaments such as ghosts, black cat, witches, and spiders cut out cardboard. Paint them and hang them on the tree.

Tip: make a uncommon Halloween garland with popcorn painted orange.

Witch Hat

If you still have a pointy black hat from last year, reuse it by sticking Halloween items such as fake hands, spiders, cobwebs or other spooky items and pin it to the front door.

Halloween just isn’t complete until the house has been decorated. But which cheap Halloween decorations are the best? Gothic and Ghoulish? That often works. Conventional and Terrifying? Sure, you could do that. Graveyard chic? Yeah, that’s a evergreen favourite, too.

Pumpkins

Ok, no doubt you need to have some carved pumpkins. What’s Halloween without them? But here’s your opportunity to be really creative. The smiling Jack o’Lantern with giant teeth has just been overdone.

what about shaving part of the skin and carving something that resembles the family cat? Or, you could cut part of the skin off in a spiral and make the attached peel look like guts by sprinkling it with stage blood. Give it some thought and you’re sure to come up with a neighborhood award-winning design that is wholly original.

Candles

spooky candles are a must to create that Halloween atmosphere. But don’t just light some six-inch tall, uninteresting, white sticks and be done with it. Go for something really different.

Picture a Gothic-looking candlestick holder topped by skulls with some short, fat candles on the top. Now, that’s’s unique. Or, buy some holders three-feet high and put two-foot high, two-inch wide candles within like the friars utilized in the Middle Ages. In fact , where do you believe Halloween came from?

Gothic Coverings and Wall Decor

To really make the house over to capture the Halloween look, Gothic coverings are the perfect decoration. That might be a blood-soaked table cover or a cover that turns your nice beige couch into a brooding black coffin.

Add to the effect with a hanging Gargoyle light. Spread plenty of spiderweb mesh in the corners or spray the windows with fake spiderweb thread from an aerosol can. Perfect the look with a mirror that sports masses of scary skulls around the frame.

Front Door Hangers

remember that door knocker. Skulls are generally a good choice. But you might make the effect actually wild by going for the gooey courage look. Some sausages sprayed with stage blood make for the ideal Halloween holiday wreath.

One clever Halloween decorator even developed a mirror that hangs on the door… Whose reflection shows the person as a ghost! You can get a similar effect by skillfully using digital photo software on the PC. Just take an internet stock photo of your favorite poltergeist, darken the background, and fuzz things over a little by making it out of focus. Print it out on a color printer and hang on the door. Then just lower the lights on the porch.

Dishes and Table Settings

Remember that when you serve the guests you do not need to destroy the look you have worked so hard to create. Some skeleton-arm glasses where the arm is the stem and the hand is the cup keep the atmosphere alive. Or is that dead?

Plates that disappear in the dark, except for the shade of a ghost that appears in the dim light, will make serving snacks a disturbing experience. Let’s just hope it doesn’t unsettle their stomachs.

Halloween is so much more fun for trick or treaters when your house looks enticingly scary as the kids approach. These days, even one pumpkin can run you a few bucks, so if you’re like me, you’re looking for a few ideas for cheap Halloween props that are still scary enough to give the kids a thrill. Here are just a few ideas for creepy, but cheap Halloween props the kids can make and/or decorate themselves. You save money and they have fun.

Poster board and cardboard boxes are on my short list of cheap Halloween decorating materials. A large cardboard box can be turned into a haunted house in an afternoon. Hung from a window, your haunted house will lend a creepy feeling and inspire a little apprehension for the candy seekers. Depending on the kids ages, you may need to help cut out some ‘windows’ with a utility knife. After that’s done, let the kids loose. All you need in the way of supplies is a tube of gray acrylic paint, yellow or orange cellophane, a pack of markers in day-glow colors, a package of ’spiderwebs’ and some glitter. Cut your cardboard box to a size that fits in a front window. After the kids have painted the house, allow about 15 minutes for drying (acrylic paint dries quickly). Turn the cardboard (or poster board) over and then they can tape the cellophane to the back of the windows. Now they can use their markers to draw in the creepy details. Kids generally know what scares kids, so let them have free rein. Apply spiderwebs! When the haunted house is finished, hang it on the inside of the designated window. The cellophane will be backlit by the lights inside. Voila! Incidentally, this Halloween prop can be used again next year!

Halloween light strings are another of the reusable and cheap Halloween props. While a creepy entryway is part of the Halloween fun, you want to balance off the decorations with a bit of cuteness for the very young trick or treaters. You can light the front of your house for just a few bucks and the kids can have fun doing this task as well.

You might want to get a quantity of those fake spiderwebs. Attach them to places kids might touch, like the doorbell and porch or stair rails. Little plastic creepy crawlers should be in abundance, tucked into the spiderwebs. No glue needed. You might even offer a creepie as a ‘party favor’. As the kids are leaving with their treats, give them an added scare. “You’re welcome to take a little spider or worm home if you’d like to take one from the spiderweb patch…”

Instead of spending a lot of money on a couple of big pumpkins, pick up some of those tiny pumpkins at the supermarket. Get a few small packages of glass ‘jewels’ and let the kids create Jack o’ Lantern eyes and mouths. Group them together on a table at the doorway, or spread them along the windowsills. These cheap Halloween props can also double as Halloween ‘party favors‘.

Every drugstore’s Halloween section is flush with the printed-on-cardboard skeletons, witches and vampires. Let the kids put a little spark on these cheap Halloween props, gluing on fake jewels for eyes, some glittery red blood streaks and some accent creepiness with the day-glow markers. Hang these guys from a tree branch, porch rail, or anywhere they’ll catch a breeze and flutter wickedly.

Making these cheap Halloween props heightens the fun of this single, annual scare fest. Better yet, most are reusable. Next year, the kids can add to their collection.

In many ways, the late Michael Jackson is seen as a mysterious individual. Towards the later years of his career and life, controversy was something that was largely associated with the “King of Pop”. Let’s take a closer look at some of the many mysteries shrouding our beloved icon. Before you read on, here a snapshot of all the essential Michael Jackson “costumes” he wore throughout his life.

Michael and His Oxygen Chamber – Did He Really Sleep In it?
Yes, he did! The $60,000 machine was built and slept in by the late Michael in the hope that he could live up to an old age of 150 (which he sadly did not). Known as the Sechrist 2500B hyperbaric oxygen chamber, Michael was photographed to have slept in the chamber sometime in 1986. The chamber is said to be left in a storage depot somewhere in San Diego and gathering dust.

Why Did He Have Bubbles As A Pet…Who Is Bubbles?
Bubbles is the name of a common chimpanzee that was adopted by Michael. Bubbles was said to have been taken from a cancer research clinic in Texas sometime in 1985. While it was said that Michael and Bubbles had gone on to develop a close relationship, the public had different ideas…they had developed the notion that Michael was an eccentric who could not leave his childhood behind…As a result, he was given the name “Wacko Jacko”. What I’d say is…you definitely cannot win them all, can you?

Did Michael Bleach His Skin?
This is what many failed to see and understand. Contrary to belief, Michael did not really bleach himself on purpose and this has been proven through autopsy. He DIDN’T bathe in bleach. What really happened was he had developed a skin disease which is commonly known as Vitiligo. What happens is Vitiligo caused Michael’s skin to blotch in white spots which ultimately covered his entire skin. He could have bleach or undergo a process known as de-pigmentation to reverse the process of blotching.

Why Was Michael Known To Have Want To Look Like Peter Pan?
This is a very controversial subject. It has been said that Michael IS obsessed with Peter Pan in many ways. He invites children to his ranch in the hope of reliving his fantasy and obsession to be like Peter. As a matter of fact, many experts has said that Michael bears a strong resemblance to Peter. Download their two pictures and put them side by side…do you see the resemblance. Personally, I couldn’t see where the resemblance (physical looks) was…Would you care to enlighten me? Well, this Halloween, you can buy a Michael Jackson Halloween mask as well as some really cool MJ Halloween costumes.

Who Is Debbie Roe, Blanket aka Prince Michael?
Debbie Roe is Michael’s ex-wife. Although married, they never really lived under the same roof. As a result, their offspring was believed to be the result of artificial insemination. It was also widely believed that the two children were not Michael’s but he insisted they were. Blanket also known as Prince Michael Jackson II was born on November 2002 and is Michael’s third child.

Tyron is a huge fan of Michael Jackson. This season, he’s looking forward in paying tribute to The King of Pop by wearing Michael Jackson Halloween Costume

What is great about adults is that they can play games meant for children and still have a lot of fun doing them. If you are having a Halloween party, you can do some things that are usually done at kids parties. However, you also want to think up some adult Halloween games that you can offer them as well. It really depends on who you are having over for your event, how well you know them, and what types of personalities they have. Most groups of friends share the same sense of humor, so that part should not be too hard when having a party with friends.

You can go with kids games that are not really for kids any longer. Though bobbing for apples is something that some kids play, many parents shy away from it because of the part about putting a head in a tub of water. This can be great choice of adult Halloween games though, and it will make them feel young again. Just remember, this is one of the adult party games that you want to do early in the evening, as it may not turn out well if you have some drunk friends sticking their head in water.

You may not think that adults are into scavenger hunts, but these are a lot of fun no matter what age you are. In fact, adults have more freedom to roam around where they need to go to find what is on their list. That means some very hilarious situations. Adult Halloween games like these are best for the older group because you don’t have to worry about the adults when they go out, as long as they have not been drinking too much. It is best to play any adult Halloween games before the drinking starts, if you choose to have alcohol at your party.

You can also go back to childhood a bit with another type of adult Halloween games. You can instruct everyone to come with a clean face so that you can give each other makeovers, and then go out about town with the new faces. This can be a lot of good fun, as you are at the mercy of the person that is applying your makeup and/or face paint. Get plenty of colors and accessories for adult Halloween games like this, and be sure you have your digital camera out to save the memories for years to come.
